what misery!  this old house is full of all kinds of kooks, kinks and krazy kats!  its liveable, but that just isn’t good enough for some folks!  i mean its good enough for me, i’m the kind of person who wants to get busy with the living!  not busy with the renvoations!  we tore out the old living room  dining room 3 summers ago, tore it right down to the original hardwood floors.  then 2 years ago it was the kitchen, totally torn out and re done.  that was one helluva mess!  now its the upstairs, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom…
yesterday i carried out 900 kgs of garbage, loaded it into the uhaul, drove it out to the dump, and unloaded it:  what a work out!
then the dry wall…  that crap is super heavy!
its a dirty job.  you wonder why anyone signs up for renovation projects.  once you’ve got a couple of days in you ask yourself:  do i want to do this for the rest of my life?!!!
the answer is no!
i know i enjoyed playing with the paint brushes, making pictures, and selling them, all the while the baseball was on the tv.
not a bad way to spend the day.

may 5.2008:  still renovating and what a huge mess!  the bathroom is gone!  we tore it out and found our handy man couldn’t do it.  he was suppose to be here today at noon and didn’t show…
which is funny cause i was saying to michelle yesterday, all i need is a few good men, or women, or a few of both, and we can turn those big wheels.  so we got on the phone and another plumber arrived and took out the tub and the vanity.  where we’re going to shower…  i guess at the old Y but still man this aint no way to live!  we get this one behind us and its just the windows after that.  it should be easy and clean sailing.
we were thinking about selling this place but after seeing a few horror stories around the neighbourhood, i mean houses that really should be bulldozed, i’m thinking we just stay here, now that we have these great things happening.  makes sense to me.
one thing is for certain, we are carrying way too much junk!  tons of it.
i’m going to double time the unloading of my junk.  no need in carrying all that.

may 8th:  ditched another 900 kgs of crap today!  filthy!

june 11th:  we’re a long way from may 8th date wise and work wise!  two rooms are nearly finished.  we’re waiting on the windows and what’s left are tiny details.  let me tell you when you put a new bathroom in its an uphill struggle!  but its in.  and expensive…
nice new colors, like the blues here on the page.  the new blue in the bedroom is very light and soothing, you can wake up in a room like that and not be scared shitless!  not like the old way with that crap wall paper!  so the change is good.  but what we need another cool 4 000 so we can put the icing on the cake.

june 17th:  well we got one of the new windows in…  its those glass blocks, slick, and its a welcome change from that ulgy window that was there before.  but as we put all this work into new windows and rooms and etc., you have to wonder, hey man i’m going through all this trouble and i aint even going to enjoy it!  we’re moving out in 2 weeks!

june 24th!  still working at it and man its a mess in places.  but she’s coming around.  we have some major projects going down, and the sooner they are iced, the better off we will be.  its going to seem like a cake walk putting the paint on the walls…
so all this stuff is going on, we’re moving lots of stuff into storage, and i’m going to the island sometime soon with jazzy, so i’m wondering, trying not though, where i’m going to be hanging my hat when september comes around!!!
we’d like 10 more business days to finish this thing…

july 4th: took another 980 kgs of trash to the dump the other day…
and of course we’re nearing the end, one way or another if you get my drift…

july 14th:  ready or not, she is going on the market this friday.  the back yard was completely trashed, we had it bulldozed and i tossed 2 bags of grass seed around, about 2 weeks ago and didn’t see a sign of it.  but then suddenly 2 days ago we could see some green back there.  now its turning into a jungle!  very nice.  you need your own green space in the city.  so maybe, deck or no deck, it might be a selling factor with this house.  we’re going to focus on the inside over the next few days and lets hope she goes up on friday without any hassle.

august 2nd:  well she’s mostly over but the crying!  we’re taking offers on monday and lets hope there is at least 2 of them!  cause that’s all we’ve had come through this place since the sign has been up…
a bit spooky truth be told…

august 5th:  we heard from those two viewings that nothing is going to happen with this crib till we do something about the back yard!  so the last thing we have to do is build a deck back there and some steps.  well we knew this anyway.  the back yard was trashed.  but.  and thank goodness and our lucky stars the Cavalry is arriving soon and we’ll have that deck up where it belongs.  once we have that in position, then its open house time and we’ll see what shakes.  it was some nail biting action on my part but now with the Cav. arriving, there is a light at this rather dark and spooky tunnel…

august 10th:  i guess we’re going to build that deck starting today!  aint no one is going to come near this place without that deck.  right now its nothing but rubble out there and that is no way to make a pitch.  but the Cavalry is here and we’re going to get it done.  with the Cav. comes a ton of knowledge in all camps, and this is good cause you need to hear it from folks who have experience.  lucky thing for us as they can talk down some of the hot heads we have around here!  hot heads with big idearskiis…  (feet not on the ground!)
