Made it into the New Year safe and semi sound, minus 34 degree winds howling at the door, alone as alone can/could be!  I was out here on the open range for 8 days without the lovely ladies.  When you have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 8 horses, someone has to be around to see to it.  I was hoping to get busy with the brushes and a few cans of paint but like I said, when you have a wind like that knocking on every door and window…

The gals were in the cosy confines of the 9th, down there in the GTA, doing that holiday thing.  The wild climes, for them, might as well have been attractions at the zoo or a museum, as seen from the safety side of some mighty thick glass.  Quite on the other hand, I took in what was happening at the waterfalls when the cold winds were at their most brutal, snapping a few pictures along the way.  So here is one of them.  And when you look at this dreamy scene, imagine your bones rattling in a north wind, exposed skin freezing over frostbite style in around 5 minutes, not a conversation with another soul in seven days and a can of filthy sardines for lunch…
