Autumn Scenes: Mornings on the Range

Aanii!  Folks autumn has indeed landed!  Evenings are getting cool, mornings are too, and before the full moon, the stars seem to jump from the sky.  I snapped these 2 photos in the a.m., a few days ago but things remain much the same out there, quite unchanged from these photos.

We’ll be in different scenes this time tomorrow as we are on the road to the good city tonight!  I want to walk those city streets and see how it’s done: the day to day in September.  You see I’ve forgotten what it is like: to live in the city in the autumn.  Of course I look forward to the events scheduled for tomorrow night: the Art Battle.  And we have all of Saturday to roam the city streets and observe the wild goings on.  I’ll snap a few photos along the way!

Art Battle, Ottawa, Friday Night, 7 p.m., Arts Court, 2 Daly Ave downtown

Wednesday morning on the open range!  Well.  It’s pitch black out there at 645 a.m.  I guess autumn did land over night.  We’re mid week and looking forward to going back to Ottawa and setting foot inside 2 Daly Avenue, downtown, for some art battling action on Friday night!  I’m freshening up the war horses and here is one of them:

The bottom line is we’re going to have some fun.  I haven’t been in any art battles since way back in art school.  Back in those days we started out with 35 and by the time it was all said and done there were 7 of us left standing.  Mind you we are all different folks since then.  At any rate: I am good to go!  Fit for duty!

Tehkummah scenes: the twinravens range

Halloo there!  Sunday morning on the great wide open:  sun is blazing down, the green and blue are in autumn, the river is clear and cold!  We are some lucky folks to be out here on a day like today: it is a paradise when the skies are blue and the winds are warm.  And it inspires!

I was waiting for one of those windy days on the “art bridge” and thank the almighty (x many) we had one last week.  Here is the other painted on the same afternoon:

Fun stuff!  And fun to trade in the seriousness of the Ojibwe Woodland art style for an afternoon and jump on with the “art therapy”!

Medicine Lady Bear

Aanii!  Take a look at this:  Medicine Lady Bear, acrylic on canvas board, 18×24 inches, painted on the range!  Ah yes, I can hear Shag singing:  Bear Clan walking…  Beside me…

Sometimes you have to keep one

Aanii, Boozhoo and Hello there!  Here I am at the Ojibwe Cultural Foundation on a smoking hot and humid Saturday afternoon, Labour Day weekend.  I am assisting with the tours happening in here today and at the same time displaying a few of my smaller paintings.

This one:

Painted here at the OCF and on the range on July 31st, and hey!!!  I’ve been looking at it and I decided to keep it!   Sometimes an artist has to do that!  Yes/no?

Art Battle in Ottawa, September 25th

Hi there!  You know I love a good trip to the O Town!  I’ll go to that Witches Gathering any day or night.  Same can be said for the Zombie Stripper Bash: any day or night!  Well here we are ready for a new idea:
